Elinore Tonsor, SLP One day this fall, I was walking down to my office with a delightful First Grader. He has some significant issues with vocabulary. This young man is an avid Packer fan. Regardless of his speech/language delays, he can explain everything having to do with football, especially his beloved Green Bay Packers. On this particular Friday, he was wearing his Green Bay Packer jersey, even though the Packers didn't play that Sunday, as it was their "Bye-Week." As we were heading to my office, I asked him if he thought the Packers would win that Sunday. "No," he said, "They don't play." I asked him if he was sure. "They don't play," he said, a little less assuredly. "Are you sure they don't play?" I asked, hoping to get a conversation started about it. He looked at me with exasperation. "Don't you know," he said, with his hands on his hips, "They have to go buy stuff!" |
