I work in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. One day, I was screening a 4-year-old kindergarten student and asked him if he spoke English or Spanish at home. He responded with "I speak human!" I chuckled and returned, "So you speak the language of people! What other languages do you speak? Elephant?" Without missing a beat, he said, "No, but I can talk monkey--oooh oooh oooh aaah aaah aaah."
