Valuable Lessons From Shared Memories
I still remember my first diagnostic as an undergraduate. I was paired with a graduate student and had practiced all the tests, although I knew he was going to administer most of them. My preparation the night before included watching after-school and early-evening television -- the "Flintstones," "Quick Draw McGraw," and "Lost in Space." It appeared that the diagnostic, a 7-year-old with a severe language disorder, would be a disaster.

Internet-Picture It! Free Art for Therapy Materials
Many of today's clinicians may not remember the days of cutting and pasting pictures from magazines and Golden Book dictionaries to create treatment materials. It used to be the method of choice for those of us not blessed with artistic abilities. Although commercial companies now produce an abundance of resources, the materials available may not fit the needs of a particular client, or clinicians may find satisfaction in creating some of their own materials.
